Probably the biggest problem for a writer is to come up with new material. I have spoken over the years to several columnists and they've all said the same. "I wonder if what I am writing is helpful or entertaining to my readers?" I write a monthly column and of course write this blog and have the same question. Rarely do people comment on what I write nor do they ask questions about it. I'm not sure it is because they fear asking a question or it is that I am writing about what interests me. I get feedback from people like, "I read your column every month." or the editor says, "We get a lot of feedback from your column." but little concrete is said that helps me.
